Two postal employees from the Oxford, Ohio post office enjoyed the air-conditioned facility, as they stamped mail items for Bicentennial visitors.

Organizers of the Bicentennial wanted to commemorate the Darrtown P.O. and research revealed that the U.S. Postal Service has a procedure for creating "pictorial postmarks" for special occasions.
Betty Daniels, Steering Committee member, agreed to coordinate an event at the Bicentennial that would include (1) designing a commemorative stamp and (2) providing a one-day opportunity to have mail items stamped with the Darrtown Bicentennial postmark. Arrangements were made with the local post office in Oxford, Ohio (45056) to have two of its employees in E-Dot Park on Saturday, July 5, 2014, to apply the Darrtown postmark.
Betty also arranged for the printing and sale of four sets of postcards that featured historic Darrtown images. The post card packages were sold as souvenirs in the Bicentennial Welcome Center.
