Steering Committee members, Jack Daniels and Joe Pater, coordinated the parade. Marvin Gillespie and Kevin Quinn assisted.
The Bicentennial parade, which included over 50 units, stretched a distance of four village blocks (approximately 3/10 of a mile). Starting at 10 AM, on the east side of Darrtown, the last unit entered E-Dot Park, on the west side, at 11:10 AM.
The hundreds of onlookers, who lined the village streets, were treated to a parade of fire trucks, classic cars, antique tractors, horse-drawn wagons and buggies, plus a few lawnmowers. Parade participants included State Senator Bill Coley, State Representative Tim Derickson, Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones, the three Milford township trustees – plus, several individuals wearing pioneer costumes. A few colorfully dressed clowns added to the festive spirit.
