The Bicentennial Steering Committee members reasoned that any celebration that only happens once every 100 years in any small village in any state in middle America must include ... (drum roll, please) a car show ... a classic car show!
And that's what led to the Darrtown Bicentennial Classic Car Cruise-in.
As usual, volunteers made it happen. Marvin Russell, Rick Martin, and Fred Dakin (all residents or former residents of Darrtown) joined forces to line up more than three dozen vehicles for the Bicentennial Classic Car show.
Bicentennial organizers also reasoned that gathering a collection of classic cars in Darrtown called for a parade through the village! The result of that decision can be seen at the parade page.
