The decision to include an antique tractor show in the 200-year celebration was, as "they" say, easy-peasy for the Bicentennial Steering Committee.

Darrtown has always been surrounded by farms and it is common to see tractors traveling through the village, as farmers move from farm to farm or field to field. So, naturally, the event organizers were quickly of a mind to invite the farm crowd to be part of the festivities.

Getting the word out and arranging for tractors to appear at the event was facilitated, when local farmer, Nathan Gillesie, agreed to serve as the coordinator of the Bicentennial tractor show.

Many of the tractor-owners, who agreed to be part of the show at E-Dot Park on Darrtown's West Street, also participated in the 10 AM parade through the village on Saturday morning, July 5th. The procession wound up at E-Dot Park and that's where the tractor owners parked their vehicles for viewing.
