Jean wrote: "Fred,  can you use this?  I came across it when cleaning out some things. ... Thanks for doing the newsletter. If I find anything else on the Decker family I'll let you know."

The writing on the newspaper connects the the Decker and Geisler families to Darrtown.

The Cheesy Brincefield Quartet

RIGHT: From hand-written notes on a photo contributed by Fran Weiss, we believe the men are (from left to lower right): Frank Bufler, Ben Bufler, Rebe (or Kebe - sp.?) Folmer, and Cheesy Brincefield

ABOVE: This photo, contributed by Frances Weiss, shows Cheesy Brincefield as a young man.

ABOVE: Dale Bufler confirmed that the two-story house in the center of this photo was the Brincefield home. It was located on the east side of Darrtown's Main Street, opposite the Hitching Post tavern. In the 1950's, the Butterfield family lived in this house. Today (2008) this location is a vacant lot. Bill Weiss provided this photo, which was taken by his father, Paul, in the 1950's.

RIGHT: This undated image was contributed by Kay Weiss in July 2012.

Kay's email included this statement: "...the only identification I have: "Grandpa" (George Washington Bowman, 1836-1908) at the bass drum; "Dad" (George Washington Bowman, 1872-1931) with the snare drum."

If you can identify any of the band members, please contact the Darrtown.com webmaster.
