The Feb. 4, 2022 newsletter included a story about the famed 1920 baseball series between Darrtown and the Hooven traveling team of Hamilton.

Darrtown had another big-time series, in 1921, against the Hamilton Clippers.

Since that time, our Darrtown Detective discovered an 1898 news item about a West Butler County school teachers' meeting in Darrtown. The program for the meeting included the names of speakers and entertainers. Robert Meeks was listed as "music, cornet." Robert would have been eight years old, in 1898.
