"When David W. Keck was born on February 24, 1846, in Pennsylvania, his father, Samuel, was 39 and his mother, Anna, was 38. He married Mary A. Morton on December 22, 1870. They had six children during their marriage. He died on December 15, 1919, in District of Columbia at the age of 73, and was buried there."

DAVID W. KECK'S HUNTING ACCIDENT

DAVID W. KECK'S TIMELINE:

In 1868, At the age of 22, David Keck suffered a severe hunting accident that resulted in the amputation of one hand. The news item, replicated at the right, was published by the Daily Ohio Statesman newspaper, on March 11, 1868, as a special report from the Hamilton (Ohio) Telegraph newspaper.

David W. Keck was born on February 24, 1846, in Pennsylvania to Anna Maria Lenhart, age 38, and Samuel Keck, age 39.


His brother George was born in 1849 in Pennsylvania when David W. was 3 years old.


David W. Keck married Mary A. Morton on December 22, 1870, when he was 24 years old.


His daughter Maud Manda was born in October 1872 in Ohio.


His son William W was born on November 18, 1873, in Darrtown, Ohio.


His daughter Edith E was born in February 1877 in Ohio.


His daughter Gertrude G was born in January 1879 in Ohio.


His son Samuel Star was born in February 1880 in Ohio.


His father Samuel passed away on December 19, 1881, at the age of 75.


His sister Sarah Catharine Ann died on February 4, 1882,in Mokane, Missouri, when David W. was 35 years old.


His son Paul Benton was born in May 1882 in Ohio.


His mother Anna Maria passed away on April 23, 1896, in District of Columbia at the age of 88.


David W. Keck lived in Washington, District of Columbia, in 1900.


His brother Josiah died on February 20, 1902, in Darrtown, Ohio, when David W. was 55 years old.


The 1910 Federal Census listed David’s occupation as “compositor” and the industry as “Government.”


His sister Ellen died in 1919 when David W. was 73 years old.


David W. Keck died on December 15, 1919, in District of Columbia when he was 73 years old.


Burial: Washington, District of Columbia, District of Columbia, United States of America.
