Most dates in the list are based on obituaries; so, time periods during which each man operated his business occurred prior to the dates shown.

The above image was taken from the 1860 U.S. Federal Census. From it, we can see that John Leatch, who was born in the state of Maryland, worked as a blacksmith in Milford Township, Butler County, Ohio. From the other names listed on the original census report, we deduce that Mr. Leatch was situated in Darrtown. He was 62 years old in 1860, thus, he was born in 1798.

The following link leads to an image of a record from the Butler county recorder's office that confirms "Fritz" Weiss and Fred Abry bought the north half of Lot 124, in March 1890. It seems reasonable to assume that this was the location of the Weiss-Abry blacksmith shop.
