THE STEVENS FAMILY dating back to the 1850s

Thanks to Joseph Black, who is currently living in Australia, the James Finley Stevens family has been added to the Darrtown Family Tree.

To see what Joseph, the great-great-great-great grandson of J.F. Stevens, contributed to the Darrtown website and to learn about the Stevens family, visit the Stevens family page.

The seach for information about the William Stevens family (see item at the left) led to the discovery that Brookfield Gard was a doctor in Darrtown in 1860.

Two places on the Darrtown website feature information about Darrtown and the U.S. military.

...a new section that links to a Vietnam War "virtual page."

Two invitations to the tank dedication were circulated prior to the November 12, 2022 Dedication; both were posted on Facebook and mailed to persons listed in the Darrtown address book.

The Hamilton Journal News published a front-page story about the tank dedication, on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, 2022.

THE GARD FAMILY dating back to the 1850s

... a newspaper item about cattle being swept away by flooding waters, during a 1917 storm.

It is likely that the cattle were swept into DARR'S RUN, rather than the Four Mile creek (as reported in the newspaper).

The Joseph Davis farm was traversed by Darr's Run, as shown on the map at the right.
