Speaking of farms ... farmers used to harvest grain via threshing machines. A "threshing ring" included the farmers who helped each other thresh. At season's end, threshing rings often held family-dinners to celebrate. One local celebration was reported in a 1930 newspaper story. See the article at these links:

Margaret Hagan and her husband, Cliff, were the first rural route mail carriers in the Darrtown area.
Margaret's father, Fred Abry, along with Fritz Weiss, operated a blacksmith shop in Darrtown for over 30 years.

A chart has been added to depict six generations of Kramer family lineage from George Kramer (1780) to the current generation.
A link has been added to show that the Kramer farm, founded in 1816 and now known as the Richardson-Kramer farm, is an official Ohio "Century Farm."

Charles Teckman's memory of the "north Darrtown" threshing ring appears at this link:
Part 2 of the news article mentions the presence of "Mr. and Mrs. Harry Teckman and son, Charles," at the 1930 threshing-ring celebration. Some 90 years later (February of 2022), in response to a query from the webmaster, Charles Teckman shared the following memory: "During the late 1930s and early 1940s, I used my pony and cart to haul drinking water to the ring north of Darrtown - as the farmers worked in the fields pitching sheeves of wheat onto the horse-drawn wagons. I was about 14 or 15 years-old at the time. Farmers formed a ring of farms and used a threshing machine and steam engine tractor for power."

● FRESH Air Fair (Family Resources & Education on Safety & Health) will take place on Saturday, April 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Talawanda High School. FREE bicycle helmets will be available for youth as well as many different social service and non-profit organizations to share resources with families!
● Drug Take Back Day will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at the FRESH Air Fair. Please bring expired and/or unused medications to be disposed of in a safe, environmentally friendly way. Can’t make it on this day? No worries. There are permanent medication drop boxes at Oxford Police Department, Oxford Township Police Department, and Miami University Police Department.

Adrian Reiff, of Bradenton, Florida, donated a photo of a 1930s-era Hamilton (Ohio) amateur baseball team that includes Walter and three other Darrtown men.
