A large banner was positioned above the tent entrance to attract attention to the exhibit.

Prior to the festival, this flyer was used to advertise the exhibit in the Darrtown newsletter and on the Darrtown Facebook page.

Two old boys, with a childhood connection to Darrtown, instigated the exhibit.

These two tables displayed items related to Darrtown organizations and schools.

This table top displayed items about various community groups and events.

A 54-foot banner placed above three sides of the tent displayed a timeline of historical events related to Darrtown, our nation, and the world.

Each guest to the Darrtown Memories exhibit received a free wooden nickel. Images of the front and back of the commemorative wooden nickel appear below.

An 8.5 x 11 inch placard (like the one shown at the right) was displayed at the front of the exhibit to explain how each guest had a chance to win $25 in real nickels.

At the close of the exhibit, the best guess took the prize!

The appearance of the WWII "Kilroy" character on the back of the wooden nickel was intentional - as a salute to the "Medal of Honor" medallion that was bestowed on Darrtown and Milford Township miltary veterans during the 2014 Darrtown Bicentennial.

This page, dedicated to the Darrtown Memories exhibit, has been placed here, in the History section of this website, on the premise that the exhibit warrants preservation. Perhaps, this website record will help future generations better understand Darrtown history - from 1802, when Conrad Darr and others entered Milford Township, up to the 2014 Bicentennial.

Given the absence of a Darrtown museum, the records, photos, and artifacts that were presented in the Darrtown Memories exhibit will, pending the approval of appropriate officials, be archived at the Smith Library of Oxford, Ohio.

Ron Wiley and Fred Lindley assembled an exhibit of Darrtown history that they displayed on Saturday, September 21, during the 2019 Darrtown Fall Festival.
