Edward W. Thome (1892-1980)
RIGHT: This photograph shows Mr. and Mrs. Ed Thome (circa 1950's).
Ed and Dora (known to her family and friends as "Dorie") lived in the house that sits in the northeast corner of the intersection of State Route 177 (Main Street) and Scott Road.
LEFT: This image shows Dorie and Ed Thome standing in their front yard - facing west.
The Keith Dynes home is seen behind Dorie and Ed.
Scott Road, beyond the mail boxes, appears at the right mid-point of the photograph.
Lawrence Baumann's house and barn can be seen at the right, middle part of the photo. Being able to see the Bauman property from this vantage point means that this photo was taken prior to the construction of the Bufler homes along the south side of Scott Road.

Edward William Thome was born on January 18, 1892, in Nebraska. He had one son and two daughters with Dora Pauline McVicker between 1919 and 1926. His daughter Mildred "Mick" was born on May 17, 1919, in Ohio. His daughter Ruth Eliz was born in 1921 in Ohio. His son George was born on August 29, 1926, in Ohio. His daughter Ruth Eliz passed away on July 14, 1942, in Hamilton, Ohio, at the age of 21. His wife Dora Pauline passed away on November 16, 1975, in Hamilton, Ohio, at the age of 86. Edward William Thome died on September 14, 1980, in Oxford, Ohio, when he was 88 years old.
