George Long lived on and operated the farm located immediately south of Darrtown on the east side of Rt. 177.

"Thought you might like to see these pictures. These were taken at George Long's home to celebrate his 104th Birthday on January 6. 1985. This is my Dad (Lawrence Baumann) holding our son, Chris Meador, who was also celebrating his first Birthday on January 6, 1985. George was always excited to see Chris, and to share his Birthday with him.

George E. Long died Friday, November 22, 1986, at the age of 105 at Woodland Manor Nursing Home.
