For over six decades in the mid-1900s, Luther McVicker was a mainstay in Darrtown. Owner and operator of McVicker's Garage, which was located near the middle of the village, Luther's service station was a popular site for many who lived in and around Darrtown.

Persons familiar with Darrtown, in the mid-1900s, are likely to be more familiar with Luther McVicker than they are Frank McVicker.

Frank McVicker was one of several McVickers who made their way in agriculture; raising horses east of Darrtown, on the north side of Scott Road. Ironically, it was an accident with one of his horses that cut Frank's life short at age 44 years.

The two following images provide a brief glimpse of how Luther McVicker and Frank McVicker were related.
