Photos by Fay

Fay (Dees) O'Brien lived in Darrtown during the late 1940s and early 1950s, when her parents operated a convenience store that was located on the east side of main street, opposite Glardon's Grocery - which became Don's Carry-out.

Fay traveled from her California home to Darrtown for the September 26, 2009 Darrtown Gathering at the Hitching Post tavern. Upon returning to the west coast, Fay mailed the following images to the webmaster.

Fay captured a photo of a safe once owned by Earl "Red" Huber, former owner of the Hitching Post.

After the Gathering, Fay and her three former classmates visited their old elementary school, in Collinsville, Ohio.

This is a view of the second floor landing and the entry into the two classrooms on the west side of the building.

For this shot, the four friends stood in the locatons where they used to sit at their elementary school desks.

The four friends gathered on the fire escape at the end of the school building for a final photo opp.
