COMMEMORATIVE PLAYING CARDS SALUTE DARRTOWN BICENTENNIAL
Pitch Tournament Scheduled as Part of Festivities
Darrtown, Ohio
Organizers of the Darrtown Bicentennial are selling commemorative decks of playing cards, in an effort to raise funds for the 2014 event.
The Darrtown Bicentennial playing cards may be purchased in Darrtown, at Don's Carry-Out and the Hitching Post; in Oxford, at Ace Hardware and the Whistle Stop; and in Hamilton, at Bethart Printing and the Gramco Feed Company.
Card decks will be also be sold, during the March 23 Dinner and Fundraiser, at the Milford Township Community Center.
The playing cards, and the box in which they are packed, feature the official Darrtown Bicentennial logo. Printed by The United States Playing Card company, which is a world leader in the production of playing cards, these Bicycle© brand cards were manufactured in the USPC plant, in Erlanger, Kentucky.
Decks are $10 each and all benefits go to the Darrtown Bicentennial Fund.
These cards were a one-time production run by the United States Playing Card company, which means that supplies are limited!
The cards are the centerpiece of an ongoing Bicentennial Pitch card tournament that will run during the 12 months leading up to the July 5-6, 2014 Bicentennial celebration. Tournament organizers hope to establish a national record for the greatest number of players in a year-long Pitch tournament.
The United States Playing Card company is the official sponsor of the Bicentennial Pitch Tournament and will provide a championship trophy to the winner. The champion Pitch player will be determined, during a final round of competition at the Bicentennial.
The Darrtown Bicentennial playing cards are excellent gifts for people who enjoy playing cards and they represent historical memorabilia that could be stored and saved for future generations. After all, for most people, bicentennials are a once-in-a-lifetime event!
The Darrtown Bicentennial Steering Committee urges you to support the Bicentennial by purchasing a deck of commemorative playing cards and to "pitch in" by registering to play in the Darrtown Pitch tournament. Tournament details are available online at www.pitchcardtournament.com
