...about

This new section was triggered by the discovery of a single news clipping ... which led on and on and on... to more than 36 resource items.

If you are a Darrtown history buff, be sure to visit this Maria (Clements) Nichol section, which contains more than three-dozen resource items that tell the story of a woman who was born in Darrtown; lived most of her life in or around Darrtown; and was buried in the Pioneer section of the Darrtown cemetery. Maria was active in community events and organizations and she occasionally rented part of her home to tenants. At one time, a section of the Clements/Nichol home served as the village post office. See: A profile of Maria Nichol.
