Lot 52

of the original Darrtown plat

Both of these structures stand on lot #52, which was enumerated by Conrad Darr in his original plat of the village.  The Hitching Post occupies the southern half and Don's Carry Out occupies the northern half.

Marvin Russell contributed the property records that appear in the slide show at the bottom of this page. Fred Lindley used data from the property records to create the following chronological chart.

Webmaster notes: About the following chart ...

An effort was made to recreate the list exactly as it appears in the original records, which appear in the slide show below the chart.

Keen-eyed readers will notice that some items are NOT in chronological order; however, that's how they are listed in the original records.

Also, the phrase "do   do" appears to have been used as ditto marks; meaning that the phrase is the same as that which apppears immediately above it.

Presumably, the phrase "pt" is an abbreviation for the word "partial."

Presumably, the phrase "Shff" is an abbreviation for the word "Sheriff," as in a sheriff's sale.
