The following excerpt, which verifies the "Matt Burns" story, appears on page 92 of Walter Alston's autobiography, "A Year at a Time." ----- “It had been a good day for dad, Coxie and me. It was cold and crisp; but, nice hunting weather. The day was pretty well gone, when we headed back to Darrtown, laughing and joking along. When we pulled up in front of the house in Coxie’s car, Lela came out. ‘Buzzie’s been calling all day,” she said. “He won't say what it's all about, but it's important. You're to call him right away.’ All Buzzie told me was to get to New York right away. There was a plane ticket for me in the name of Matt Burns, at the Cincinnati airport.” ----- In the above excerpt, COXIE refers to Howard Cox, a friend and Darrtown neighbor.
