Kirk Mee III took a keen interest in researching the "Irwin double-murders of 1865," due in large part, because, as a young boy, in the 1950s, he lived in the house ... on the farm ... where the two murders occurred.

Puzzled about the fact that the story of the murders went largely untold for more than a century, in 2018, Kirk pursued the mystery for months. In September of 2018, Kirk wrote a five-page narrative of his understanding of the crime, which he mailed to the Darrtown webmaster.

KIRK'S HANDWRITTEN SUMMARY IS PROVIDED BELOW, with the understanding that these notes reflect Kirk's analysis of the incident - based on information that was available to him, at the time of his writing.
