The committee used electronic media to reach Darr family members. Email contacts were pursued and the following poster was included in the Darrtown Facebook page and several Darrtown.com newsletters.
Members of the Darrtown Bicentennial Steering Committee deemed it fitting that they attempt to locate and invite descendants of Conrad Darr to the 200-year celebration.

Lynne Sherer Sitkiewicz (Conrad Darr's 4th great-granddaughter)
Joye (Hutchings) Wilcoxon (88 years old, traveled alone, from Paris, Illinois, to attend the Bicentennial.)
Joye Wilcoxon (center) is holding a copy of the Oakland Independent newspaper of Oakland, Illinois. According to the newspaper's About Us page, the Independent is "an independently owned weekly newspaper covering the Oakland-Hindsboro community in rural Illinois. We provide important local news, as well as fun and quirky material that readers won't find anywhere else,"
